Born in Tunisia in 1942, he moved to France at the age of fourteen and attended the "Ecole des Beaux-Arts" in Aix en Provence. In this renowned school, he studied Arts and Architecture, but in 1964, discontent with the rigid education and the materialistic French lifestyle, he withdrew from school and came to India in 1968. Upon coming to Auroville, he was a collaborator in the architecture office of Roger Anger, the chief architect of Auroville. For the past 42 years, he has practiced architecture in and around Auroville creating numerous private residences, apartment buildings and commercial facilities.
